Finite Element Analysis

Valmont West Coast Engineering (VWCE) is a well-known name in the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) community. Through its extensive research and development programs, and the implementation of complex Standard Modeling and Simulation Procedures, VWCE has been able to set up a unique Virtual Laboratory for testing and optimizing our products during the design stage.

In the rapidly changing marketplace, companies can no longer afford the traditional approach to product development, involving a series of design-prototype-testing cycles.

In order to shorten the product development cycle and stay ahead of the competition, many companies are using the virtual modeling and virtual testing of products before investing in prototypes and tooling.

The ability to predict the response of simulated parts and assemblies allows for optimizing the design before a working prototype is made. As a result, the product quality is greatly enhanced while the design lead-time and costs are reduced.

As part of Valmont’s engineering community we already offered and employed our skills and capabilities assisting other Valmont design teams (in locations such as, Valley, Salem, Farmington, Plymouth, Birmingham, etc.), with the projects they are dealing with.

Joining our team's capabilities and skills we were able to provide, in an efficient manner, design optimization solutions for various projects.

One of the most recent projects is the 100ft Antenna Tower shown above, which was designed by the Valmont Salem engineering team, where VWCE provided engineering assistance with the flanged connection design optimization which was a critical aspect of the design approval process.
